READ THE ROOM is a cosy English-language bookstore café in Dresden’s Neustadt. It is a small library, a living room, a reading study, and event space all in one, designed by an avid reader and author with a passion for literature, coffee and stationery.
Our bookstore is focused on a variety of creative fields including Classic English language literature, old and new poetry, translated international literature, and independent publications.
We host book giving & exchange pop-up events.

We Buy Books
You have to part from some your English books?
You can bring your books to us, but we recommend emailing beforehand so we can let you know what we’re interested in. We are interested in books in good condition, no annotations, and fitting in with our current stock.
You are welcome to bring your books anytime. Please note that we are closed Mondays. We can offer cash or in-store credit, to be used either for books or drinks.
By and large, we buy what we know we can sell; no travel guides or outdated encyclopaedias please.
If you are an independent author or publisher, please contact us directly with the titles you would like to sell at our store.
